  1. I combined both! LOL. I just switched the first one around a little. 😉

“I can’t! There’s no way!” she screamed, thrashing and flailing in her bonds.
“You’re right,” he replied, in a simple tone. “You’re going to have to make a way.”
“Don’t mock me,” she snapped, her eyes narrowed into tiny green slits, lit up with fury and hatred.
He shrugged. “I’m not mocking you. Just passing the time until….” His sentence trailed off, and a smirk stretching its way across his lips.
Dread coursed through her veins, and she swallowed tightly. “What are you talking about?” she whispered, but she already knew.
Draven would be coming for her. Of course he would. That’s all the villain ever wanted…it was Draven all along.
He cackled, watching the horror seep into her features, her gaze swarming with fear and hopelessness. Then she she met his eyes again, and screeched with all of the fury she could muster.
He quickly tied the gag back on, then reclined back into his chair, watching with glee as she fumed in silence. All he had to do was wait.
As for the girl, her mind was overwhelmed with panic. She couldn’t let him have Draven…she knew it was his life or hers. She knew Draven would come to rescue her, no doubt.
    What could she do?
She stared at the metal bonds tightly enclosing her hands, and chewed on the thought of breaking the chains. However, the moment she tried to lift a wrist off of her lap, she knew it wasn’t going to happen.
    Then she had an idea.
She knew it was a risk…a very dangerous risk. With her amount of strength, she doubted she would make it. But she knew it was the only way she could save her brother.
She flitted her eyes back up to her enemy, who was now intensely staring at the door, a stun gun trained on the knob. He wasn’t paying any attention to her anymore.
She bit down hard on the gag and closed her eyes, opening her mind up for the first time in ages.
Instantly, the pain struck. Unbearable pain, clawing and tearing and ripping at the insides of her mind. She gritted her teeth tightly over the gag, and stretched her consciousness further.
    Further…
    Further…
    The pain.
    Oh, the pain…
She almost gave in, almost lost her consciousness when she felt the familiar click. She had connected with Draven’s mind. Then, with the last ounce of strength she had left, she spilled the words into his realm of thought:
“Don’t do it, Draven. Go home. He’s waiting for you.”

      1. Yeah, I need to see if they have them at my library! What are they about? I’ve heard some about them, but I’m curious to know more. 😀
BTW, I’m working on Part One of Reign Of Deceit right now, so I should have it up tonight!:D

      2. I had to put the books on holds, but they were in my library system. 😉 Hmm! I don’t know how much I could tell you without spoiling it. 😛 But the characters are very easy to become attached to, and there’s lots of action. Very good books!
Ooh, awesome!! Looking forward to it!
